Crestwood City Hall Flooding and Boil Order

Approximately 8 inches of water flooded the basement

On the morning of Saturday 8/10, a water main that connects the Missouri American water tower (next to City Hall) ruptured and sent thousands of gallons of water along and into City Hall.

Some of the upstairs carpets and floors were covered with water, but the majority of the flooding occurred in the basement where the Fire Chief and Public Works have office spaces along with historical records, police evidence, and computer servers and equipment.   About 8 inches of water filled the basement.

MO American Water told television reporters that one of the two water tanks emptied during the break.

MO American Water is claiming responsibility and will reimburse the City for costs associated with the losses.

Crews were still on site Sunday afternoon with the clean up efforts still in full swing.

Due to the loss of pressure, MO American Water issued a boil order, which is still in effect at this time.  Below is a link to their website with additional information and a map showing who is impacted.
